Introducing new CED3 NAPLAN dashboards

Unlocking deeper insights

We are pleased to introduce the enhanced CEnet CED3 NAPLAN Landing Page, a powerful suite of dashboards and tools designed to provide comprehensive, actionable insights into student and school performance. These new dashboards are set to transform how educators and administrators understand growth, identify areas for intervention, and foster continuous improvement across all NAPLAN proficiency domains.

Understanding your school's progress: The School Growth dashboard

The School Growth dashboard offers a clear view of your school's overall NAPLAN performance and growth.

  • Overall performance at a glance: offers quick access to overall school performance and growth, making it easy to see trends and identify significant shifts. For instance, visual representations can show the movement of students between proficiency levels from one NAPLAN cycle to the next.

  • Individual student growth tracking: provides insights by comparing each individual student's current NAPLAN results to their previous NAPLAN results across all five proficiency domains: Reading, Writing, Numeracy, Spelling, and Punctuation. This allows for a granular understanding of how students are progressing over time.

  • Targeted interventions: quickly identifies students who may require enrichment or specific interventions to support their learning journey. The dashboard highlights the difference between actual growth and expected growth, providing evidence for focused support.

Benchmarking against peers: The Statistically Similar Schools Group (SSSG) Comparison dashboard

The CED3 Statistically Similar Schools Group (SSSG) comparison dashboard provides a unique opportunity to benchmark your school's performance against others with a similar socio-educational background. This comparison is made possible by utilising the ICSEA (Index of Community Socio-educational Advantage), a measure developed by the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) to ensure fair comparisons of school performance, particularly in NAPLAN.

This dashboard offers multifaceted insights, allowing you to compare your school with the average performance of similar schools across each proficiency domain. You can explore comparisons on various metrics, including:

  • Overall Student Performance (Scaled Scores).

  • Time taken to complete the test (Lapsed Time).

  • Difficulty of questions.

  • Question pathway taken by students.

  • Percentage of correct questions.

These easily accessible visuals and differentials allow you to quickly identify areas within your school that may require specific attention or intervention for development or indeed areas for celebration and consolidation.

Deep diving into student development: The Detailed Students dashboard

For educators focused on individual student progress, the CED3 NAPLAN dashboard - Detailed Students tab is invaluable.

  • Actual student growth: comparing each student's current result to their previous one across all proficiency domains.

  • Expected student growth: calculates and presents expected student growth for each proficiency domain. This calculation is based on an extensive dataset of over 50,000 cross-referenced Catholic student NAPLAN results. This allows you to see how your students' growth compares against the average growth of their peers with similar past performance.

  • Evidence for action: these insights are viewable at both the year group and class level via the Detailed Class List dashboard. This provides compelling evidence of student growth or highlights the critical need for intervention when students are not achieving expected growth.

The new CED3 NAPLAN dashboards offer a unique level of detail and comparison, empowering administrators and educators with the data needed to make informed decisions, drive targeted interventions, and ultimately foster a robust learning environment for every student.
