cechat turns 1!
Today we’re celebrating one year of cechat. It was built with educators, for Catholic schools across Australia. In just 12 months, together we’ve grown from a bold idea to a trusted classroom companion:
🎈 16 dioceses | 12,130 teachers | 30,827 students
🎂 24 Catholic independent schools
🎈 1896 teacher-made agents
🎂 Evidence partnership: ACU study underway
🎈 Co-design with schools, and deep thanks to Danny Liu (USYD) for the foundational collaboration that helped cechat spring from the tertiary space to the bespoke Catholic K–12 sector at scale.
What sets cechat apart:
🎂 Values-aligned by design (Catholic context, dignity and care).
🎈 Walled-garden privacy and flagged-conversation safeguards.
🎂 Teacher-built agents (EAL/D, UDL, wellbeing, assessment) that put human judgment first.
🎈 K–12 ready and practical for everyday planning, learning, and support.
A big shout out to the team at Microsoft and Azure especially Fiona Mavros and Dan Bowen for their support and guidance over the last 12 months.
Most of all, thank you to the teachers and students who use cechat every day, give honest feedback, and help us make it better. Your trust keeps us grounded and accountable.
Here’s to YEAR TWO: more co-design, more classroom wins, same commitment to safety, equity, and learning.
Happy birthday cechat!
