Uplifting the cyber security posture across the Catholic sector

Last month, CNA held its AI and Cyber Security forum at the Melbourne Archdiocese's Catholic Leadership Centre. The day consisted of keynote speakers Kellie Britnell (Office of the eSafety Commissioner) and Dan Tripovich (Australian Signals Directorate) who provided an eSafety lens over the challenges and opportunities presented to Catholic schools in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security.

The day also consisted of presentations by CEnet and other Catholic sector stakeholders on the contributions they have made to the Cyber Security Working Group (CSWG) which was formed by the NCEC IT Working Group (ITWG) earlier this year. These topics included:

  • Navigating cyber security risk management and governance

  • Uplifting cyber security awareness & training

  • Exploring national, operational cyber security capabilities

  • Considerations for implementing the ACSC's Essential 8 framework across our sector

CEnet's recently launched Security Services programme has been a key contributor to the work of the CSWG, and has been developed to serve as a vehicle for uplifting the Cyber Security posture across the entire Catholic sector.
