This free and impactful ‘hands-on’ lesson on cyber safety was held on Tuesday 5 December 2023 and delivered by Dr Alan Ibbett, an Australian cyber-security expert and Head of Information Technology, at CEnet.

This free event was part of a project funded by the eSafety Commissioner, an Australian Government Agency, in conjunction with Charles Sturt University. Research findings from the project ‘Protecting children from smartphone leakage of security sensitive information’ are shared in this webinar to highlight the risks associated with smartphone leakage.

Presented by Dr Alan Ibbett

Dr Alan Ibbett is the Head of Information Technology at the Catholic Education Network (CEnet). Alan has worked in the technology in education field since 1997 and was Chief Information Officer (CIO) for a system of 38 private schools in the Illawarra Region of NSW. As the CIO, Alan was responsible for the delivery of information, communication and learning technologies and services. One of the regular services he delivered to these schools was a comprehensive cyber safety training for staff and students.
